Add some spice to your first dance at your wedding and perform to a tango written for your story. Here is a sample composition set to a romantic story of a chance meeting on the cobblestone streets of Spain. It is written for guitar, two violins, a double bass, and a snare drum. This piece has been recorded using the notation software, Sibelius, so the sound of the instruments and the interpretation of the music is somewhat mechanical.

This piece was premiered at the Norton Museum in West Palm Beach, Florida. It was played by students and staff at Palm Beach Atlantic University.
This piece is based on the concept of the Golden Mean outlined by Aristotle in Nicomachean Ethics. In this concept the middle ground is the ideal and anything in excess or deficiency of the mean is not ideal. In this piece you will first hear a section of excess and then a section of deficiency (both will be found lacking) before a section representing the Golden Mean. This concept is also Biblical and can be found in Ecclesiastes 7:18.

Eternity is But a Moment

This piece was premiered at the Norton Museum in West Palm Beach, Florida. It was performed brilliantly by flutist David Suarez. This piece is my attempt to represent musically how God perceives time based on the writings of Boethius in his Consolation of Philosophy.

These clips are from a Mini Musical entitled Staring at My Future. It is a story that follows a girl through trials, loss, temptation, and redemption. These pieces illustrate some of the different styles that can be developed. The first piece is based on a fairly traditional waltz. The second is based on a contemporary pop style. The third is a tango. The fourth is a classical piece for pipe organ with a complex pedal (bass) line. The fifth is based on a contemporary Christian worship song style.

The first piece featured a large ensemble of instruments, including first and second trumpets, a trombone, a tuba, a harp, first and second violins, a cello, and voice to carry the melody. The second piece was written for piano and voice. The third was written for two classical guitars, a piano, a clarinet, and voice. The fourth featured a pipe organ. The fifth used voice, piano, first and second violin, viola, and cello.

This is a prelude  based on the hymn This Is My Father's World. A requiem could be written in this style to honor the memory of a loved-one, inspired by his or her favorite piece of sacred music. This prelude was written for a brass ensemble of nine instruments (3 trumpets, 2 French horns, 2 trombones, 1 bass trombone, and a tuba). Please note that this is a recording from the notation software used to write the piece, not from actual instruments, so the sound of the instruments and the interpretation of the music lack emotional depth. This is a graduation song composed specifically for Unity Christian High School. It was written to suit volunteer instrumentalists/vocalists of the graduating class. As a result, the ensemble consisted of three voices (Soprano, Alto, Tenor), piano, guitar, trumpet, and cajon. (This demonstration was recorded using Sibelius sounds. Therefore, the voices cannot sing lyrics.) This song demonstrates how compositions can be suited to the instruments available.
